The building is situated on a steeply sloped site with views of the Hudson to the west. The neighborhood consists of a combination of single family houses and four to five story multiple dwellings.

WestHab intends to make the apartments available for first time buyers at an affordable cost and the program calls for a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms, with parking on site.

The intent of the design is to maximize cross ventilation and views of the Hudson River as well as to give every apartment access to the outdoors by providing balconies and loggias. Passive sustainable features include moveable shutters on bedroom windows (a feature that also minimizes light pollution at night), fixed shading over living room windows and a green roof.

Exterior materials include zinc cladding (a green product), fiber cement panels and wood shutters. The building's ground floor will be clad in local stone.
